ADVANCED HUD SETUP
(Please note this is additional info
for advanced use, It is not a primary intended function of the weapons,
and I cannot provide extensive support on setting up your weapons. Make
sure you have a backup of your weapons HUD before you attempt any advanced
reconfiguration of it. This is for advanced use only.)
** ADVANCED USE - Configure your HUD & Customise your Style **
Unlike other many other weapons, Combat evolution weapons
are designed to allow for customisation and personalisation.
The combat
HUD contains all the primary animations and
sounds for your weapon, this means that you can use your own weapons
you make with the HUD as the weapons are essentially props.
(Note for DCS users, only the included weapons will do enhanced damage
within the DCS combat system)
As well as this, it is possible to configure your own sounds
and animations! I did not document this in the last release in much detail
as it is not a primary intended function. However some users may
find it useful, whether you wish to just change one basic stance you don't
like, or configure a whole new set of animations to work with the system
and
your weapons. Here it is some instruction on advanced configuration of the
HUD now...
i) Before you start, make sure if you edit the AO you drop it on the ground
to do it. You will have problems adding/removing contents, or editing the notecard's
while it is attached to your avatar.
ii) I have designed the notecard configuration system within the HUDs so that
people familiar with standard animation overriders such as the Wet Ikon will
be familiar. This essentially turns your weapon HUD now into a complete weapon
overrider system. The notecards follow a very similar format to those of an
animation
overrider. They contain action headings (such as -=Walking=- and -=Running=-)
on the line under these headings you must put the name of the animation or
sound that you wish to activate for that action.
Inside the combat HUD for your weapon you will find the following notecards...
* AOSettings - This notecard contains the names of all the animations used
for AO motions such as walking, running etc
* MA Health Pack Config - This notecard contains a list of animations
triggered when you are hit/damaged by another player
* MA HUD Config Card - This config card contains the bulk
of animations for combat. There are 12 Buttons (HUD Controls) Also indicated
in the headings are the arrow direction on your keyboard which triggers
this motion. So the first one...
-=Button 1 Up=- Represents button one on the HUD, and the Up Arrow on your
keyboard when using a keyboard attack
There are also slots for your blocking animations (there are 3 slots for this,
one of the 3 blocks are played at random when you block)
The energy charge slot is the animation played when you are charging your weapon
through the HUD for a massive attack.
* Sound Config - This notecard contains a list of sounds that can be played
through the HUD. Some of these are voice sounds that will play only when you
have voice turned on. Others are for the whooshing and clashing effects associated
with your weapon.
iii) When you have added your sounds and animations to your HUD, and put the
names of them in the correct notecard's you will need to reset your HUD before
it will become operational with your changes. To do this bring up the options
menu (indicated by a spanner icon on your HUD, and click the RESET HUD button.
This will reload the notecard's, and you will be ready to go.
ADDITIONAL INFO DRAW/SHEETH :-
- The draw and sheething animations are held within the weapon sheeths themselves
rather than the HUD. If you are familiar with scripting and wish to know how
to make your own sheethable weapons this is what you need to know....
When you draw a weapon a command is said on chat channel 101 with the word
'draw'
When you sheeth a weapon a command is said on chat channel 101 with the word
'sheeth'
