I have released an update today to the Advanced Couples animator in SL. It has a few new features/fixes including intelligent avatar height detection, clearer renamed menus and a couple of new animations to replace some old ones. More info further down this blog entry.

If you have an old version 3 HUD you should recieve this new one automatically when you attach your old one.

Im afraid there are no updates for v2 animators due to a content theft resulting in it being spread throughout SL.

New 3.45 features in more detail

Avatar Height Detection

The main new feature is an intelligent height detection system which works out the difference in avatar heights and plays an animation most suited to them. This feature has been added to tackle the problem of animations not lining up when avatars are of significantly different heights. The original animator worked with just one animation per sequence, as a result often did not line up so well if the avatar heights were considerably different from those that the animator was designed to work for. It is not possible to position an avatars physically in SL via an attachment as you would with poseballs, hence the need to make changes to the animations themselves. Please be aware that this will still not be perfect as there are simple too many different avatar shapes and sizes in SL to make sequences to fit everyone, but should help improve overall performance significantly.

Menu Options

I have relabled the Direction option to switch roles. This option is for turning the animators animation sequence around. By default it is set up to assume the owner of the HUD is male. This option can be used to change this to female.

Animations

A few animations such as the salsa animation have been altered with new improved versions.
