This noticeboard can be used by the owner or anyone listed in the access list notecard inside it. It allows you to post a small note which when clicked on by an avatar can say a message/play a sound/give an object, landmark, notecard or URL. It can also be configured to display a texture.

~To configure the access list notecard perform the following steps~

a) Right click on the noticeboard and select edit. Now click on the contents tab of the window that pops up and open the accesslist notecard.

b) Add/Remove names from the notecard. You can have one name per line. The names of the avatars must be exactly correct. (including capital letters)

c) Save the notecard and close the edit window. Now click on the noticeboard and select the Reset option from the drop down menu. This will reload the accesslist notecard.

~ POSTING A NOTICE ~

If you are the owner of the noticeboard or on the access list you can post a notice. To do this perform the following steps.

Click on the noticeboard and select the menu option 'NewNotice' from the drop down menu.

A note will appear in a random position on the board. Click on the note to configure it. A menu will appear on your screen with various options for setting up the notice. ( IMPORTANT :- DO NOT FORGET TO LOCK YOUR NOTICE WHEN YOU HAVE FINISHED SETTING IT UP OTHERWISE ANYONE ELSE WILL BE ABLE TO EDIT IT! )

The following options are available...

AddItems :-
This is a reminder on how to add content items to your note that will be given to an avatar touching it. You can add a texture, notecard, object, sound or landmark to the notice by holding down the Ctrl key and dragging the inventory item into the notice. (NOTE: Adding a texture will apply it to the notice itself. Objects/Notecards/Landmarks will be given to the avatar that touches the notice. A sound will be played when an avatar touches the notice.

Rename :-
By default your notice is called 'Notice' with a date stamp after it. You can rename the notice with this menu option. When you select this option, folllow it by entering the new name in open chat. The notice will now be renamed.

Descript :-
This menu option is similar to the rename option but is for changing the description field of the notice. The description field of the notice will be said in chat when an avatar touches the notice. If you do not wish the notice to say anything leave this blank.

URL :-
This menu option allows you to assign a URL link to the notice which will be given to the avatar that touches it.

Clear :-
This option will clear all the notice settings and inventory you recently added to it.

Destroy :-
If you wish to remove the notice from the board all together use this menu option. It will delete the notice.

Lock :-
THIS IS IMPORTANT
A notice that is posted can be edited by anyone until it is locked. When you have set up your notice select the lock option to finalise it. Only the owner or the person that locks the notice can unlock it again to delete it or edit it.

The area the notices appear on is dependent on the size of your noticeboard. You should be able to resize the board and orientate it in any direction without any problems. Use the secondlife building tools to do this.
